Gus Irfan Visits Hotel Kampoeng Indonesia at the Imam Bukhari Complex, Samarkand

Indonesia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf — known as Gus Irfan — visited Hotel Kampoeng Indonesia in the Imam Bukhari memorial complex, Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The visit took place during his official programme in Samarkand, after accepting an invitation from the Governor of Samarkand, Adiz Muzaffarovich Boboev. During the visit, Gus Irfan joined a midday meal of Indonesian dishes prepared at the hotel.

Gus Irfan welcomed Hotel Kampoeng Indonesia as part of EBI Resources’ investment from Indonesia in Uzbekistan. The Indonesian-concept hotel is regarded as a way to introduce Indonesian cuisine, culture, and identity in a place that draws travellers and pilgrims from many countries. The visit also offered a first-hand look at facilities that carry an Indonesian atmosphere within the Imam Bukhari complex.

In addition to Hotel Kampoeng Indonesia, Gus Irfan visited the Imam Bukhari memorial complex and paid respects at the shrine. He was accompanied by Indonesia’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Siti Ruhaini Dzuhayatin. The programme formed part of his working visit to Samarkand and of closer ties between Indonesia and Uzbekistan.
