Tabung Haji Malaysia Chairman Welcomes Talks on Religious Tourism in Uzbekistan

The chairman of Lembaga Tabung Haji Malaysia, Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain, spoke warmly of his stay at Hadith Hotel in the Imam Bukhari memorial complex, Samarkand. He had lodged there while attending The First International Conference: Al-Jami’ al-Musnad al-Sahih: The Book of an Ummah. He had also visited Hotel Kampoeng Indonesia with Malaysia’s Minister of Religious Affairs, Dr. Zulkifli Hasan, and the Malaysian scholar Dr. Maza.
He shared that experience in a meeting with EBI Resources representatives Agus Ruhiat and Iwel Sastra at the Tabung Haji offices in Kuala Lumpur. The two sides discussed cooperation between TH Travel & Services and EBI Resources on religious tourism in Uzbekistan. Tan Sri noted that hotels in the Samarkand pilgrimage precinct are well placed to serve Malaysian travellers and congregational groups visiting Uzbekistan.
The meeting also touched on Uzbekistan’s growing promotion of religious tourism, especially in Samarkand and Tashkent. Both sides hoped that cooperation between TH Travel & Services and EBI Resources would become a working partnership — in travel, and as a mark of closer ties among Indonesia, Malaysia, and Muslim communities linking Southeast Asia with Uzbekistan.
